The EFJ has functioned as Fund Administrator and Fund Manager for several funds. The Special Climate Change Adaptation Fund (SCCAF) is the latest project to be administered by the EFJ.


About the SCCAF:

On July 28, 2016 the EFJ signed an agreement to be the Fund Administrator for the SCCAF. This is a partnership that involves the Inter-American Development Bank, the Government of Jamaica – through the Ministry of Economic Growth & Job Creation and the EFJ.


The Special Climate Change Adaptation Fund (SCCAF) has been established ith US$4.7 million, to provide grant financing to finance community based and sector driven adaptation initiatives island-wide.  The Fund will provide grants that can be accessed by community based organizations, other civil society groups and selected public sector agencies, for clearly defined high priority activities, particularly related to building the resilience of the natural environment and contributing to livelihoods protection and poverty reduction. This fund is being administered over a four (4) year period.


The Fund will consolidate sector focused interventions to deepen expertise while achieving efficiencies, for example:

a) Climate change investments, promotion, awareness & education.

b) Capacity building and knowledge development.

c) Technical Assistance which will lead to more Climate Change investments
