In July 2011, EFJ awarded 24 grants to non-governmental organisations, community based organisations and academic institutions under the broad areas of Child Survival and Development (AID) and Environmental Management (PL480). The grants which will be implemented over the next 12 months will be tackling critical needs in each of the two sectors. Project themes include climate change adaptation with a focus on disaster risk reduction, biological diversity, community environmental management with a focus on recycling and water harvesting systems, children with special needs and disabilities and capacity building.

This year 6 project beneficiaries received co-funding support through EFJ sub-grants provided with funding from the Inter-American Foundation (IAF). These grants have a focus on water harvesting for domestic and agricultural use.
